Advanced trading UI made simple.
Firi is a Nordic cryptocurrency exchange, where you can sell and buy crypto, such as bitcoin, ethereum and cardano. Firi was founded by Thuc Tuan Hoang and Øyvind Kvanes in 2017, as they experienced the need for a local crypto exchange.
Thuc and Øyvind contacted the most talented people they knew in the tech industry and the team spent all of their free hours from 2018 to 2021 building together what is today the largest service for trading cryptocurrencies in the Nordic region.

Redesign and simplify their existing trading UI
Process / insights
The insight work consisted of creating different user personas and specifying their different needs. After the needs had been specified, the different functions required to support them was drawn up. The end result was design goals that had to be met for the project to be sucessful. Designing was made in iterations, where the design started out without color or text and became more and more detailed for each iteration, while still keeping its simplicity.
